TAKING BODY MEASUREMENTS PART TWO

Measurements needed for a basic blouse bodice:
  • Shoulder: measure from the tip of one shoulder bone to the other
  • Bust: measure round the fullest part of the bust 
  • half length: measure from the nape of the neck to the navel, then subtract 1" from the number
  • waist: measure round the waist 
  • blouse length: the length of the blouse from the nape of the neck
  • blouse length roundness: measure the width (roundness) of where the blouse length stops 

Measurements needed for a basic gown bodice:
  • Shoulder: measure from the tip of one shoulder bone to the other
  • Bust: measure round the fullest part of the bust 
  • half length: measure from the nape of the neck to the navel, then subtract 1" from the number
  • waist: measure round the waist 
  • Hip Line or depth: the distance from the waist line to the fullest part of the hip
  • Hip: measure round the fullest part of the hip (or butt)
  • Gown length: measure from the nape of the neck to the desired gown length
